4 WAYS TO FIND INNER PEACE
Are you looking for inner happiness and peace? Inner peace
means that you have a sense of harmony, emotional well-being, and contentment
in your life despite your current struggles (money, relationships, loss, etc.).
You can achieve this by practicing acceptance of yourself and the world around
you, by engaging in mindfulness and meditation.
1 Take a personal inventory. Self-acceptance is essential to
promoting inner peace because it allows us to accept what is currently
happening, regardless of the circumstances. If we try to avoid pain, we may
only increase it. You can start practising self-acceptance by taking a personal
inventory: who you are, what you look like, how you feel, and what you've done.
Write a personal list about your personality,
characteristics (positive and those you want to work on), actions, and
appearance. Make sure to accept every part of your inventory, even the things
you're not proud of. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you made if necessary,
and focus on what you can do today to improve.
Take inventory of your goals. Sometimes having dreams and
aspirations is what moves us forward in self-acceptance. Set personal goals and
move towards them every day. Some examples of personal goals include: losing
weight, eating healthy, exercising more, taking up a new hobby (such as playing
a musical instrument), or watching less television. Ask yourself daily if what
you are currently doing aligns with your goals and values.
Reframe your negative traits into positive traits to improve
self-acceptance. For example, you may think that you are not tall enough and,
therefore, not fully accept your height. You can practice self-acceptance by
understanding your height. What meaning or purpose could his elevation have? How
does your size benefit you? Does it help you do some activities that a tall
person can't do?

2. Focus on what you are grateful for. One way to practice
accepting your life is to be grateful for what you have rather than focusing on
what you don't have. [1]
Take inventory of everything you value in your life; This
can include: family, friends, roofs over your head, enough food to eat,
education, government, laws, nature, roads, and transportation. Remember that
some people in the world may have little access to some of these things that we
consider essential.
You can also create a digital gratitude journal online
through Thnx4.org and share your thoughts with others. [2]
3. Let go of the things you can't change. As humans, we
often want to control others (what they do or how they act) and our environment
(home, work, school, community, and world). We want our husband to be a better
person, our boss to be more excellent, our house to be cleaner, and for the
traffic to evaporate. Unfortunately, we can't always control these outcomes.
Ultimately, we cannot control what other people think, feel, or do. Perhaps
this is because we fear the unknown or what we cannot control, including our mortality.
Focus only on what you can control. [3] Ask yourself:
"What can I do in this situation?" If you can't change it, accept it
and let it go. @techgeeksblogger
