TURN YOUR RESOLUTIONS INTO HABITS
Soon it will be that time again; a new year is imminent. And
as usual, we resolve to set new habits as goals. But mostly, it just stays what
it is: A fair resolution!
The trick is to work with automatisms. If you go to our
clubs at a specific time every Monday, you will soon turn a resolution into a
habit. After the breaks, it can be challenging to regain the drive you need to
get back to the workout. It is entirely normal.
Because there are more than enough excuses - the weather,
little time, stressful work, hectic family life, or only exhaustion and health
problems, however, regular exercise can help you relax better, feel happier and
healthier - it just depends on giving yourself a push at the right moment. It
doesn't take more.
When resolutions become a habit, it's not just January that
becomes an active month - stay with our ultimate motivational tips for a
healthy and profitable 2016 with a year-round workout:
1. Set realistic goals
Do not imagine too much from yourself and first set yourself
small and easily achievable goals: This way, you can celebrate your first
successes quickly (not too extensive, of course) and get some extra motivation.
For example, you can start with a 20-minute workout a day - or reserve 30
minutes twice a week if you have time problems. If the beginning is just done,
the workload can always be increased more efficiently and above all.
2. Track and plan your progress
Write down as precisely as possible your goals and what you
want to achieve when and how. You can also note when and how you exercised or
record your workouts with an app - it is hugely beneficial for your fitness to
track your training progress. Take some time on Sunday evenings to look at your
workout milestones - this will motivate you for the coming week and awaken your
ambition.
3. Don't miss out on the fun
It shouldn't be about torturing yourself - enjoy the sport!
Find workouts and classes that you enjoy doing. Be it swimming, Zumba, or yoga.
In the beginning, it is imperative to be active at all. Try something new - we
offer many courses.
4. Find a workout buddy
Never underestimate the motivational boost family and
friends can provide when you exercise
together. For example, it is more challenging to skip a course. You can also
measure yourself against each other and have fun together. Getting there is even
easier together. If no one can be found in your circle of friends, you can
easily make new workout friendships in your club. There are enough people who
train alone and would like to be connected.
5. Make the workout a habit
Our resolutions for the new year are just an excellent way
of saying that we want to develop new, better habits and routines. Bring
regularity to your recent activities, such as having a workout at the same time
every day - or always making a detour to the gym on the way home from work. The
more reliably you establish these new habits, the easier it will be for you to
stick with them.
6. Workout as Stressabbau
What do you do when you feel stressed? From now on the
answer should be: "I'm going to the gym." Every workout is good for
reducing stress: by releasing happiness hormones, you get other thoughts, and work
out. Try it out: activity helps against stress. The more you diagnose this, the
greater the desire not to do without it.
7. Be nice to yourself
When you start fitness at 0, it is tempting to compare
yourself to others. But that is just what you should avoid because you are just
starting fresh and should concentrate fully on your own goals. Don't put
yourself under too much pressure and stay positive. Pessimism has not gotten
any further. Therefore: If you start the new year healthy, good, active, and
optimistic, you can achieve a lot.
